Stefania Lo Castro

Italian harpist Stefania Lo Castro has performed in various venues across the UK and Italy both as a soloist and as part of ensembles. She has performed at private events that sit outside the standard in well-known venues such as the National Gallery, Natural History Museum, and the British Museum.

In 2021 she completed her Master of Performance Degree and Bachelor of Music at the Royal College of Music in London with excellent results. She has been part of film music recordings at RCM and at the Belle Shenkman Studio with the RCM Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Martyn Brabbins and Esa-Pekka Salonen.

Stefania began to play the harp aged 7 taking lessons at the Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini in Palermo. At age 11 she won the first prize at Concorso Nazionale per Giovani Musicisti in Italy. Later she went to finish her studies in Lucca (Italy) at the Conservatorio di Musica Puccini. Stefania has been part of prestigious masterclasses with Ieuan Jones and Emanuela Degli Esposti in Italy and she has since participated to many masterclasses with several acclaimed musicians such as Catrin Michel, Marisa Robles, Elena Zaniboni, Jana Bouskova and Stephen Fitzpatrick who have shared with her invaluable techniques to pass on.  

She has also been invited to play where audiences have included HRH Prince of Wales, HRH Duke of York, HRH Duchess of York at high-end private venues in London.

One of London’s most experienced wedding harpists, she has performed in nearly all of London’s prestigious hotels and private clubs including The Dorchester, Royal Automobile Club, The Park Lane Hilton, Chiltern Firehouse and Annabel’s Club.
